My client is a leading construction company who are working on a number of exciting multimillion dollar projects within NSW for which they require an in-house environmental manager. The organisation specialise in major civil engineering works across the mining, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors within Australia and New Zealand, allowing the successful applicant to work on a number of exciting projects whilst developing their career across the above sectors. A major alliance project in Sydney requires an experienced construction Environmental manager to join the project team within my client. This will involve the promotion and management of environmental issues on-site to ensure that my client adheres to relevant legislation. The position will report to the Project manager and involve a number of responsibilities highlighted below: - Environmental approvals development, licensing and compliance - Environmental management plan development - Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance, and provide the project manager with in-depth reports - Monitoring and improving environmental systems and awareness - Providing technical advice to the Project manager and other internal and external stakeholders - Report environmental issues on-site Other aspects will be included on an ad hoc basis. In order to be considered for this position my client is seeking applicants with previous experience of environmental management within the construction sector, ideally working on alliance projects to display strong communication and self management skills. Applicants will be required to hold strong knowledge of NSW legislation and compliance issues related to the construction industry complimented by around 10 years experience within a similar role.
